About

I hold a PhD in Psychology with a Graduate Certificate in Quantitative Methods for Behavioral Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder.

I have extensive experience in data analysis, behavioral science, and research. In my free time, I enjoy summarizing my academic research to be more accessible, and developing and executing data analytics and research projects using open-access and publicly available data. A selection of these projects is hosted on this website and code can be found on my GitHub: https://github.com/sfreis

My academic research uses behavioral genetic and geospatial methods to examine questions focused on genetic and environmental influences on mental health and cognitive functions.

Throughout my research career, I have worked to make science and information on pursuing scientific research careers more accessible through serving on DEI committee initiatives, working with the nonprofit Project SHORT, and developing instructional materials on applying to graduate school.
