About

I hold a PhD in Psychology with a focus in Behavioral, Psychiatric, and Statistical Genetics and a certificate in Quantitative Methods for Behavioral Science from the University of Colorado Boulder. In graduate school, I conducted research on genetic and environmental influences on mental health and cognitive functioning.

After obtaining my PhD, I transitioned to industry customer research. I am currently an Experience Strategy Analyst. As a member of the customer experience (CX) team, I work on diverse qualitative and quantitative consumer research projects, including executing market research, analyzing customer feedback data, conducting mixed-methods user experience research, and supporting Voice of Customer (VoC) initiatives.

I have extensive experience in data analysis, behavioral science, and research. In my free time, I enjoy summarizing my academic research to be more accessible, and developing and executing data analytics and research projects using open-access and publicly available data. A selection of these projects is hosted on this website and code can be found on my GitHub: https://github.com/sfreis

Throughout my research career, I have worked to make science and information on pursuing scientific research careers more accessible through serving on DEI committee initiatives and working with the nonprofit Project SHORT.
