We’re only about a month away from the end of the NCAA regular season for Men’s basketball, and I’m on a sports analytics kick as of late, so I wanted to highlight some data analytics and visualizations I did this time last year.
This analysis of data from the 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball season offers an in-depth look into team performance metrics. I focused on team-level statistics like adjusted offensive and defensive efficiencies, effective field goal percentages, and other key metrics influencing game outcomes. Notably, this analysis explored the relationship between these metrics and team success, including tournament qualification. The study underscores the importance of offensive efficiency, defensive capabilities, and tempo in securing wins and advancing to and through the NCAA tournament.
